This Privacy Notice describes how we collect, use, and share the information of visitors to our website at www.recheck.co (“Website”) and users of our technology, including our hiring intelligence platform, mobile application, and all related services (collectively “Services”).

What does Recheck do?
Recheck is a professional registry. By registering on our Website, you are contributing your information to the Recheck Registry, a database of solar and home service professionals. A special feature of the Recheck Registry is that once you register with Recheck, you will not be able to delete or remove your Recheck ID or any of your associated data from the Recheck Registry. The Registry is designed to identify and combat fraud. Permanent account retention is an important part of Recheck’s efforts to identify and combat fraud. Consider carefully whether you agree with this requirement before submitting your information to Recheck.
Information you provide or we collect
Information that we may collect about you when you use the Services broadly falls into the three categories listed below:

Information that you provide voluntarily
We may collect information that you provide voluntarily when you, for example, join our email list, register with the Recheck Registry, seek information about our Services, contact us, or interact with us for any other purpose. Such information may include:
- Email;
- Your name;
- Phone number;
- Current company name, job level, and role;
- Work history;
- User name and password for the Services;
- Demographic information, such as your age, gender, or ethnicity;
- Information collected in connection with applying for employment with one of Recheck’s customers;
- Government-issued identification (e.g., driver’s license, passport) to verify your identity, prevent fraud, and ensure the integrity of our services;
- A recent photograph (selfie) of yourself to ensure that the person registering is the rightful owner of the provided government ID;
- Biometric data as more fully described below, including facial geometry scans; and
- Any other information you choose to provide.

Information that we collect automatically
When you use the Website, we may automatically collect certain information relating to your interaction with us and our Website, such as your IP address, device type, unique device identification numbers, browser-type, broad geographic location (e.g., country or city-level location), technical information about your device, the pages accessed and links clicked, and other information we collect using cookies and similar technology. Information that we obtain from third-party sources
We also receive personal information about you from third-party sources, for example, where we have entered into a contract with such third-party sources, you have consented to these third parties sharing with us, or these third parties are otherwise legally permitted or required to disclose your personal information to us.
The types of information we collect from third parties may include general geolocation information to identify what state and country you are visiting our site from to ensure inquiries and other requests are routed to the appropriate team for processing as promptly as possible as well as information about your work history from companies you are associated with.
Biometric Data Policy
Recheck collects, processes, and receives your biometric information. Recheck may use your biometric data, specifically facial mapping and geometry, to verify your identity, identify fraud, and improve Recheck’s platform, which may include sharing your biometric data with third parties and storing your biometric data for as long as we have a reasonable basis or need and in compliance with applicable law. Generally, your biometric information will be stored in accordance with this Privacy Policy and for no more than 1 year or as allowed by applicable law. Recheck specifically, but without limitation, partners with third-party service providers for the collection and processing of biometric data in order to verify your identity. You may be required to agree to the privacy policy of this and other third-party partners and, when your biometric data is collected by a third-party, the terms of that privacy policy will control such collection, storage, and use.
Biometric Data Defined
As used in this policy, biometric data includes “biometric identifiers” and “biometric information” as defined in the Illinois Biometric Information Privacy Act, 740 ILCS Section 14/1, et seq.
“Biometric Identifier” means a retina or iris scan, fingerprint, voiceprint, or scan of hand or face geometry. Biometric identifiers do not include writing samples, written signatures, photographs, human biological samples used for valid scientific testing or screening, demographic data, tattoo descriptions, or physical descriptions such as height, weight, hair color, or eye color. Biometric identifiers do not include information captured from a patient in a health care setting or information collected, used, or stored for health care treatment, payment, or operations under the federal Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996.
“Biometric information” means any information, regardless of how it is captured, converted, stored, or shared, based on an individual’s biometric identifier used to identify an individual. Biometric information does not include information derived from items or procedures excluded under the definition of biometric identifiers.
Disclosure and Authorization
To the extent that Recheck, its vendors, and/or the licensor of Recheck’s software collect, capture, or otherwise obtain your biometric data, Recheck must first:
a. Inform you in writing that Recheck, its vendors, and/or the licensor of Recheck’s software are collecting, capturing, or otherwise obtaining your biometric data, and that Recheck is providing such biometric data to its vendors and the licensor of Recheck’s software;
b. Inform you in writing of the specific purpose and length of time for which your biometric data is being collected, stored, and used; and
c. Receive a written release signed by you (or your legally authorized representative) authorizing Recheck, its vendors, and/or the licensor of Recheck’s software to collect, store, and use your biometric data for the specific purpose disclosed by Recheck, and for Recheck to provide such biometric data to its vendors and the licensor of Recheck’s software.
This policy, Recheck’s Privacy Policy, and the written release below serve to satisfy the above requirements to the extent Recheck ever collects, captures, or otherwise obtains biometric data.
Disclosure
Recheck will not disclose or disseminate any biometric data to anyone other than its vendors and the licensor of Recheck’s software providing products and services using biometric data without/unless:
a. First obtaining written consent to such disclosure or dissemination;
b. The disclosed data completes a financial transaction requested or authorized by you;
c. Disclosure is required by state or federal law or municipal ordinance; or
d. Disclosure is required pursuant to a valid warrant or subpoena issued by a court of competent jurisdiction.
Retention and Destruction of Biometric Identifiers and Biometric Information
Recheck shall retain biometric identifiers or biometric information only until, and shall permanently destroy such data when, the first of the following occurs: (a) the initial purpose for collecting or obtaining such biometric data or biometric information is satisfied; or (b) one (1) year elapses following the consumer’s last interaction with Recheck. Should Recheck receive a valid warrant or subpoena issued by a court of competent jurisdiction, this retention and destruction schedule may be suspended.
Security of Biometric Identifiers and Biometric Information
Recheck shall use a reasonable standard of care to store, transmit, and protect biometric identifiers or biometric information from unauthorized acquisition, use, or disclosure that compromises the security, confidentiality, or integrity of such data (a “Security Incident”). Such storage, transmission, and protection from disclosure shall be performed in a manner that is the same as or more protective than the manner in which Recheck stores, transmits, and protects other confidential and sensitive information, including personal information from disclosure.
Security Incidents Involving Biometric Identifiers and Biometric Information
In the event that Recheck becomes aware of a Security Incident, Recheck will use commercially reasonable efforts to promptly investigate the nature and extent of the Security Incident. If Recheck’s investigation determines that there is sufficient evidence to conclude that the Security Incident involved the misuse or reasonable likelihood of misuse of biometric identifiers or biometric information, Recheck will promptly notify impacted individuals in the manner required by applicable law.

Written Release
By agreeing to this Privacy Policy, you agree that you have been advised and understand that Recheck, its vendors, and/or the licensor of Recheck’s software may collect, retain, and use biometric data for the purposes identified herein.
The Illinois Biometric Information Privacy Act, 740 ILCS 14/1, et seq. (“BIPA”), regulates the collection, storage, use, and retention of “biometric identifiers” and “biometric information.” “Biometric Identifier” means a retina or iris scan, fingerprint, voiceprint, or scan of hands or face geometry. “Biometric information” means any information, regardless of how it is captured, converted, stored, or shared, based on an individual’s biometric identifier used to identify an individual.
You understand that you are free to decline to provide biometric identifiers and biometric information to Recheck, its vendors, and/or the licensor of Recheck’s software. You may revoke this consent at any time by notifying Recheck in writing.
You acknowledge that you have received the above Biometric Data Policy, and that you voluntarily consent to Recheck’s, its vendors’, and/or the licensor of Recheck’s software’s collection, storage, and use of biometric data, including to the extent that it utilizes your biometric identifiers or biometric information as defined in BIPA, and voluntarily consent to Recheck providing such biometric data to its vendors, and/or the licensor of Recheck’s software.
How does Recheck use this information?
Recheck may use your information for any lawful purpose, including the following:
- To operate and improve the Services and all of Recheck’s offerings to you and our customers.
- To operate, personalize, and improve the Website, including for analytics purposes.
- To respond to any requests, comments or complaints you may send to us.
- For marketing and advertising purposes, including to send updates, promotions, and marketing materials that may be of interest to you, including from us, our affiliates, and our partners and Customers;
- To protect our Website and operations, including to (a) enforce or apply the terms and conditions of our Website, including to maintain the security of our Website; (b) comply with our legal obligations or regulatory requirements; (c) protect the rights, property or safety of us or third parties; or (d) prevent a crime, prevent physical harm or financial loss or in connection with an investigation of suspected or actual illegal activity, or protect national security.

How does Recheck share this information?
We may share the information we collect with other parties, including the following:
- With service providers we have retained to perform services on our behalf, for example, to host the Website or to send email communications.

- In connection with the creation and maintenance of a public network of professionals.
- With third parties, including Advertising Partners as described in the “Cookies and Similar Technology” section of this Privacy Notice.

We and other third parties use cookies and similar tracking technology (collectively, “Cookies”) to collect and use information about you, including to help us understand how our Website is being used or to personalize our Website for you. We may use these technologies to monitor traffic patterns, usage, and session information to understand and analyze the usage trends, interests, and preferences of our users, to improve the way the Website works and looks, and to create new features and functionality.

Any personal information you provide to third party sites or services is provided directly to that third party and is subject to that third party’s policies governing privacy and security.
